GulfNews: Abu Dhabi: Water and electricity tariff for both Emiratis and expatriates had been revised with effect from January 1, 2015, in an apparent move to minimise government subsidies.

The United Arab Emirates has announced a fresh investment collaboration for renewable energy projects. France will join the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to provide low-cost finance to renewable energy projects in developing countries across the world. The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) and France’s L’Agence Francaise de Developpement will jointly study project proposals and extend financial support to suitable projects. The deal was announced during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2015.

The Solar Mobile Application will allow users to access solar resource information for their location in the United Arab Emirates, in near real-time through their GPS enabled smart phones using the unique satellite-based solar mapping algorithm developed at Masdar Institute.
