 8th Corporate Governance Conference

Corporate governance is about ensuring that companies fulfil their corporate purpose while being accountable to their owners and other key stakeholders. Accountability, and thereby the governance challenge, differs from company to company depending on its ownership structure and corporate purpose. For example, a state-owned enterprise’s accountabilities, with its wider economic, social and strategic goals, differ from those of a family owned enterprise, while a bank’s corporate governance framework needs to reflect its multitude of accountabilities. This year’s conference explores how listed companies, banks, group companies, state-owned enterprises, family businesses and their boards can align their governance frameworks to face the twin challenge of profitability and accountability.
