Dubai Airports, operator of the world’s busiest airport for international passenger traffic Dubai International (DXB), said on Tuesday that it has joined Dubai’s aviation community in signing a pledge to purchase only green vehicles going forward.

The pledge was signed by Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of Dubai Airports, president of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, chairman and CEO of Emirates airline and Group, and representatives from Emirates airline, flydubai, dnata, Dubai Police, Dubai Customs and Dubai’s General Directory of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA).

220 free parking slots for electric cars

Dubai: About 220 free parking slots will be reserved for electric vehicles (EVs) across Dubai in 2018, The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed to Gulf News on Monday.

Part of a wide-ranging incentives programme encouraging residents to opt for greener modes of transport, the project will ensure that all paid parking zones in Dubai have free parking slots, too, for EVs.

Being implemented in two phases, phase one of the project has already seen 70 slots allocated at several locations including on Shaikh Zayed Road.

ADSG And The Energy Institute To Recognise Energy Management Achievements In The Region

Winners of ADSG Sustainable Business Leadership Awards 2017


Organisations across the GCC who have demonstrated sustainability impact are being encouraged to enter the ADSG Sustainable Business Leadership Awards. Now we have news that an additional category has been included especially for the 2018 event. 

The Energy Institute will be judging the inaugural 'Best Energy Management Initiative Award', as part of the ADSG Sustainable Business Leadership Awards on 20th February 2018.

'The Best Energy Management Initiative' is designed to celebrate and recognise energy efficiency best practices for organisations in the region.

Deadline for entries for this award category is 15th February 2018.
